Why are we doing this? It’s about ministry, about serving the Lord and one another.
Imagine a narthex where members, after God has spoken to them in worship, can minister to one another, sharing concerns and visions, without bumping and spilling each other’s coffee. Imagine our current rooms and offices being used by new groups growing in faith. Imagine having enough room to worship God, in either contemporary or traditional style, and still being able to kneel around the altar as a faith family. Imagine a young family with babies in tow having a nursery to care for their children and worship at the same time. Imagine a sanctuary that stands like a light on the hill inviting all to come and worship the Lord. Imagine facilities that facilitate people in their faith journey.
This journey is about creating new tools to extend the love we’ve experienced as this faith family to others who are hungry for that connection.
How long will this campaign last? Forward in Faith is a 3 year campaign that began in April 2011 and will continue through 2014!

What progress have we made on the Sanctuary construction? In early 2008, the building committee chose Building God’s Way (BGW) as our design partner. By the end of 2009, we completed schematic design, town approvals, detailed construction design, interior design and civil engineering design. In 2010, we finished up the final design documents and obtained construction permits from the town of Cornelius and Mecklenburg County. We are currently “shovel ready”!

How much capital did we raise in the first campaign? As of November 2010, the first campaign raised over $550,000. Architect, builder, civil engineering, and consultant costs for Phase I of the Sanctuary project were $190,000. Our current Capital Campaign account balance is over $500,000.
What is included in the design of the new building? A 400 seat sanctuary with configurable seating, raised chancel, 12 ft diameter stained glass (behind the altar), 1,200 sq ft multipurpose Narthex, Information and Coffee station, 2 room Nursery with check in station, new restrooms, new music room and sacristy.
What is planned for the existing Sanctuary? The original sanctuary will be repurposed as a chapel and much needed classroom and meeting space.
